Refund and cancellation policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026. Last updated 15 October 2026. Questions: [email protected].
This policy explains how you cancel a paid plan (Starter, Pro or Business), what happens when you change your plan, how credit packs work, and when a payment is refunded. It is part of our Terms of service, whose section 5 has the full billing rules. AIS Trail is operated by Gökhan İbrikçi, an individual trading as AIS Trail ("we", "us"). The Free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund on it.
1. Paddle handles payments and refunds
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. You pay in Paddle's checkout, which opens on our payment page at aistrail.com/pay/. Paddle charges your payment method, issues receipts and invoices, and processes every refund under its Refund Policy, which applies together with this policy. Where the two differ, the one that gives you more rights applies.
Paddle answers questions about payments, invoices, refunds and cancellations at paddle.net. We answer questions about the Service itself at [email protected].
2. Cancelling a subscription
- You can cancel at any time: with Cancel subscription on the Plan page of your dashboard, in Paddle's customer portal (Manage billing on the Plan page), through the cancellation link in Paddle's emails, or at paddle.net.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have paid for. Until then your plan stays active.
- If you change your mind, choose Keep subscription on the Plan page before the period ends.
- At the end of the period your account and all its API keys return to the Free plan limits, and you are not charged again. Your keys keep working with the Free limits.
- A subscription whose payment is overdue, or that is paused, ends immediately when you cancel it.
- Live data is part of the Pro and Business plans, not a separate purchase. It ends with your subscription, or when you move to a plan without it; that is a downgrade (section 3).
- Deleting your account on the Settings page cancels your subscription immediately, with no refund for the rest of the billing period except as section 4 or the law provides. To keep your plan until the period ends, cancel it first and delete your account after the period ends.
- If we disable your account, we cancel its subscription in Paddle so you are not charged again (Terms, section 14).
- Credit packs are one-time purchases: nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel. A pack's credits stay valid for 12 months after the purchase, also when your plan changes or ends, and end when your account is deleted (Terms, section 5).
3. Plan changes and billing credit
- Upgrades (a more expensive plan) take effect immediately. Paddle charges the prorated difference for the rest of the current billing period right away. If that payment fails, nothing changes.
- Downgrades (a cheaper plan) also take effect immediately, not at the end of the billing period. Paddle calculates at once the value of the unused time on your previous plan, less the price of the new plan for the rest of the period, and keeps the difference as a credit that it uses towards your next payments. The confirmation page shows the amount. It is not paid out in cash.
- Switching between monthly and yearly billing takes effect immediately and is prorated: Paddle charges for the new billing period right away, less the value of the unused time on the old one. Switching from yearly to monthly billing can leave a credit, used as above.
- Before you confirm any change, the confirmation page in your dashboard shows the amount due today, or the credit, and your next payment.
- While a cancellation is scheduled, you cannot change your plan until you choose Keep subscription. Paddle also does not accept changes while a payment is overdue or in the last 30 minutes before a renewal.
4. When payments are refunded
Payments are not refundable, except as set out in this section, in Paddle's Refund Policy or where the law requires a refund.
- Our commitment. We give a full refund of the first payment your account makes for a paid plan (Starter, Pro or Business), if you ask for it within 14 days of that payment. Paddle, as merchant of record, makes the refund. Renewal payments are not covered by this commitment. To use it, write to us at [email protected] (section 5); we then have Paddle make the refund.
- Credit packs. We give a full refund of a credit pack if you ask for it within 14 days of buying it and none of its credits have been used. Packs whose credits have been used, in full or in part, are not refunded. To ask, write to us as above.
- Paddle's discretion. Paddle's Refund Policy also lets Paddle refund a payment, in full or in part, if you ask within 14 days of it. Paddle decides each case.
- When we end or change the Terms. If we end the Terms for convenience (Terms, section 14), or you cancel because of a material change to the Terms (section 15), we arrange through Paddle a refund of the fees you prepaid for the period after the end date, or after the date the change takes effect.
- Not refunded, unless another point in this section, Paddle's Refund Policy or the law says otherwise: renewal payments; the rest of a billing period after you cancel or delete your account; billing credit from a downgrade or from switching to monthly billing, which Paddle uses towards your next payments instead; and credits of a credit pack that have expired or been used.
- Problems with the Service. If the Service does not work as described, tell us first at [email protected]. We will try to fix the problem. Where we cannot, we may ask Paddle to refund you in full or in part.
- After a refund. If Paddle refunds a payment in full, we cancel the subscription it paid for once Paddle tells us of the refund, and your account returns to the Free plan. If Paddle refunds a credit pack, we remove its remaining credits. A partial refund does not end your plan unless we agree otherwise.
5. How to ask for a refund
- Ask Paddle at paddle.net, or through the link in the receipt email Paddle sent you. If Paddle declines a refund that our commitment in section 4 covers, write to us and we will have Paddle make it.
- You can also write to us at [email protected] from the email address on your account (or, if you have deleted your account, the address it used), with the date of the payment and the reason. We pass the request to Paddle, which makes the refund.
- Please contact Paddle or us before you dispute a payment with your bank or card issuer. Paddle handles payment disputes.
6. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory law. Paid plans and credit packs are for business use only (Terms, section 1), so consumer withdrawal rights do not normally apply. If you nevertheless buy as a consumer, for example in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland, the UK or Türkiye, you may have a 14-day right to withdraw from your first purchase. Paddle handles withdrawals under its Refund Policy; mandatory law decides when this right applies and when it is lost.
